Gixo Lumen · deck structure

SEO Report Presentation

SEO reports fail when they present rankings instead of outcomes. Clients pay for traffic, leads and revenue — a deck full of position changes with no line connecting them to the business is why SEO reporting has a credibility problem.

The slide sequence

Each step names the Lumen slide layout to use, so you can build this deck by adding layouts to a blank deck in order. Manual building is free and unlimited, and it does not consume the AI meter.

  1. The headline, in business terms

Traffic, leads or revenue against target. Not average position.

    BigNumber
  2. Results against what we agreed

The goals set last period, marked honestly.

    Stats
  3. The trend

Long enough a window that seasonality is visible.

    Chart
  4. What we shipped

The specific work done, so the client knows what they bought.

    Timeline
  5. What moved, and why

Cause attached to effect. The slide that separates analysis from reporting.

    Chart
  6. What did not work

Named honestly, with what it cost and what we learned.

    Comparison
  7. Where the competition moved

Named competitors and what changed for them.

    Matrix
  8. Technical health

Indexation, errors and anything blocking the rest of the work.

  9. What we are doing next

Actions with owners and dates, following from the findings.

  10. What we need from you

Approvals, access, content sign-off. Most SEO delays are client-side.

Read the titles alone before you present. Written as statements rather than labels, the titles of this deck should tell the whole story on their own. If they read as a table of contents, the sequence is fine but the writing is not.

What makes this deck fail

  • Leading with rankings. Position changes are a diagnostic, not a result. Clients buy outcomes.
  • No causes. A traffic chart with no explanation invites the client to invent one, usually an unflattering one.
  • Hiding what failed. Every SEO programme has failures; naming them is what makes the wins believable.
  • Changing the date range to flatter. Fix the reporting window at the start of the engagement.
  • No client asks. Content sign-off and dev access are usually the real blockers, and they belong on a slide.

Frequently asked questions

What should an SEO report include?

Results in business terms against agreed goals, the trend, work shipped, what moved and why, what did not work, competitor movement, technical health, next actions and what you need from the client.

Should an SEO report lead with rankings?

No. Rankings are a diagnostic. Lead with traffic, leads or revenue against target, and use position data to explain the movement rather than to stand in for it.

How often should SEO reporting happen?

Monthly for active programmes, quarterly for maintenance. SEO changes slowly enough that weekly reporting mostly reports noise.

Should I report on work that failed?

Yes, with what it cost and what you learned. Reports that only contain wins are read as marketing, and they make the wins less believable.

Can I build an SEO report deck for free?

Yes. Manual building from a blank deck in Gixo Lumen is free and unlimited on every plan, including PPTX export.
