Training Presentation Structure
Training decks fail when they present information instead of building a skill. The structure below alternates explanation with practice, because people retain what they do far better than what they watch.

The slide sequence
Each step names the Lumen slide layout to use, so you can build this deck by adding layouts to a blank deck in order. Manual building is free and unlimited, and it does not consume the AI meter.
What makes this deck fail
- Objectives written as topics. 'Refund policy' tells nobody what they will be able to do.
- No practice. A 60-minute deck with zero exercises is a briefing, and it will not change behaviour.
- Every exception up front. Teach the main path first; exceptions before the rule cause paralysis.
- Screenshots that are already out of date. Check them the morning of the session.
- No reference afterwards. If there is nowhere to look it up, you will run the session again in six weeks.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a training presentation be?
45 to 90 minutes for a single skill, with practice every 10 to 15 minutes. Beyond 90 minutes attention drops sharply and you are better splitting into two sessions.
How many slides should a training deck have?
Around 14 to 20 for an hour, but slide count matters less than the ratio of explanation to practice. Aim for at least one exercise per concept.
What makes training stick?
Doing the thing during the session, a named place to look it up afterwards, and one concrete action to take within the next few days.
Should I send the training deck out afterwards?
Send a reference document instead. Slides built for teaching are poor reading material, because the value was in the exercises and the discussion.
