Product Launch Presentation
Internal launch decks fail when they describe the product and skip the plan. The audience already believes the product is good — what they need is who does what, when, and what counts as success.

The slide sequence
Each step names the Lumen slide layout to use, so you can build this deck by adding layouts to a blank deck in order. Manual building is free and unlimited, and it does not consume the AI meter.
A 14-slide product launch presentation example
The same fourteen steps, written for a fictional launch — a payroll product adding same-day payments — so you can see the titles as statements rather than labels.
- What we are launching, and when. 'Same-day payments ship on 14 October.'
- Who it is for. 'Payroll managers in 50 to 500 person firms who run corrections after cut-off.'
- The problem it solves. 'One payroll in nine needs a correction after cut-off. Today that means a manual bank transfer.'
- What it does. 'Approve a correction and it lands the same day, from the same screen.'
- Positioning and message. 'Fix payroll after cut-off, without leaving payroll.'
- How it is different. 'Faster than a manual transfer, cheaper than a second payroll run, and unlike doing nothing it leaves an audit trail.'
- Pricing and packaging. 'Included on Growth. £0.35 a payment on Starter. Nothing changes for existing Growth customers.'
- The launch plan. 'Internal 22 September. Forty customers on 1 October. General availability 14 October.'
- Who does what. 'Lifecycle: Priya. In-product: Tom. Enablement: Dan. Support macros: Ellie.'
- Readiness check. 'Docs green, support macros amber, pricing config green, legal signed.'
- How we will measure it. '18% of Growth accounts using it once by 30 November. Reviewed 3 December.'
- What could go wrong. 'Bank cut-off on Fridays. Correction volume lower than modelled. Owner against each.'
- If it underperforms. 'Under 8% by 15 November: stop the paid promotion and interview twenty accounts before spending more.'
- Decisions needed today. 'Sign off Starter pricing, and confirm support cover for the 14th.'
What makes this deck fail
- A demo instead of a plan. The room is not the customer; they need the launch mechanics.
- Four different messages. If each channel writes its own, the launch has no message.
- No readiness slide. Launches slip on support docs and pricing config far more often than on the product.
- Success measured in activity. Emails sent is not a result.
- No underperformance plan. Deciding what a bad week means, before it happens, prevents panic changes.
Adapting the length
| You have | Keep | Cut |
|---|---|---|
| 20 minutes | Positioning, plan, owners, measures | Risks, readiness detail |
| 45 minutes | The full sequence as listed | Nothing |
| Exec sign-off version | Positioning, pricing, measures, risks, decisions | Channel-level detail |
Frequently asked questions
What should a product launch presentation include?
Positioning, target segment, the launch plan with dates, named owners per channel, a readiness check, success measures, and the agreed response if it underperforms.
How is a launch deck different from a sales deck?
A launch deck is internal and coordinates a team: who does what, by when. A sales deck is external and persuades a buyer. Using one for the other is a common and expensive mistake.
What launch metrics should I put on the deck?
Two or three outcome measures with targets and a review date — adoption, revenue, or activation. Activity counts like emails sent do not tell you whether the launch worked.
When should the launch deck be presented?
Far enough ahead that readiness gaps can still be closed, typically two to four weeks before general availability. A launch deck presented the week before is a status update.
How many slides should a product launch presentation have?
Fourteen to eighteen for the full internal launch review, and around eight for the executive sign-off version: positioning, pricing, measures, risks, decisions. Which half you cut matters more than the count — teams cut the plan and keep the product tour, and the plan is the half the room actually needs.
Can I build a launch deck for free in Gixo?
Yes. Manual building from a blank deck is free and unlimited on every plan, including PPTX export.
