Gixo Lumen · deck structure
Event Marketing Plan Presentation
Event plans get approved on the objective and the budget, and they fail on the run-of-show and the follow-up. This structure puts all four in one deck so nothing is discovered the week before.

The slide sequence
Each step names the Lumen slide layout to use, so you can build this deck by adding layouts to a blank deck in order. Manual building is free and unlimited, and it does not consume the AI meter.
What makes this deck fail
- No follow-up plan. Most event ROI is lost in the week after, not on the day.
- Attendance as the objective. A full room with the wrong people is an expensive success.
- Run-of-show missing setup and teardown. The two slots that overrun most often.
- Unnamed owners on the day. 'The team will handle registration' means nobody does.
- No low-registration plan. Decide the trigger and the response before you need them.
Adapting the length
| You have | Keep | Cut |
|---|---|---|
| 15 minutes | Objective, audience, budget, follow-up, ask | Run of show, risks |
| 45 minutes | The full sequence as listed | Nothing |
| Ops working session | Run of show, roles, dependencies, risks | Promotion, budget rationale |
Frequently asked questions
What should an event marketing plan include?
The objective in numbers, target audience and why they would attend, promotion plan with timing, budget, run of show, named day-of roles, dependencies, a follow-up plan and how return will be measured.
How do you measure event ROI?
Cost per attendee for efficiency and pipeline attributed for value, reviewed at a set date after the event. Attendance alone measures turnout, not return.
What is a run of show?
The hour-by-hour agenda for the event day including setup and teardown, with owners against each slot. It is the slide that prevents the most day-of problems.
When should the event plan be presented?
Early enough that budget and dependencies can still move — typically eight to twelve weeks out for a substantial event. Later than that and it is a status update.
Can I build an event plan deck for free?
Yes. Building manually from a blank deck in Gixo Lumen is free and unlimited on every plan, with no export paywall.
