Company Overview Presentation

A company overview has to survive being forwarded to someone who has never heard of you. That means it opens with what you do in one sentence, and every claim on it can be checked.

The slide sequence

Each step names the Lumen slide layout to use, so you can build this deck by adding layouts to a blank deck in order. Manual building is free and unlimited, and it does not consume the AI meter.

  1. What we do, in one sentence

Plain language, no category jargon. It must survive being repeated third-hand.

    Title
  2. Who we do it for

Named segments. 'Everyone' reads as nobody.

    ThreeColumn
  3. The problem we exist to solve

The situation before you, described in the customer's words.

    TitleContent
  4. How it works

Three or four steps. Enough to be concrete, not a product tour.

    Process
  5. Proof it works

Numbers, named customers or outcomes. One strong proof beats five weak ones.

    Stats
  6. Who we are

Team, size, locations — whatever is relevant to the reader.

    Team
  7. How we are different

An honest axis, with real alternatives named.

    Comparison
  8. What customers say

Direct quotes, attributed. Anonymous praise reads as invented.

    Testimonials
  9. Where we are going

Direction, not a feature roadmap. Roadmaps date the deck.

    Roadmap
  10. How to work with us

The specific next step, and who to contact.

    ThankYou
Read the titles alone before you present. Written as statements rather than labels, the titles of this deck should tell the whole story on their own. If they read as a table of contents, the sequence is fine but the writing is not.

What makes this deck fail

  • Opening with founding history. Nobody forwards a deck because of when you were incorporated.
  • Category jargon in the first sentence. If a friend outside your industry cannot repeat it, rewrite it.
  • Unverifiable claims. 'Industry-leading' with no number attached is read as nothing.
  • Anonymous testimonials. Attribution is the entire value of a quote.
  • A feature roadmap. It dates the deck the moment a date slips, and this deck circulates for a year.

Frequently asked questions

What should a company overview presentation include?

What you do in one sentence, who you do it for, the problem you solve, how it works, verifiable proof, who you are, and the specific next step.

How long should a company overview deck be?

Ten to fourteen slides, presentable in 15 to 20 minutes. It also has to work when read silently, because most people will encounter it forwarded rather than presented.

What is the difference between a company overview and a pitch deck?

A pitch deck asks for investment and ends in a specific ask with numbers. A company overview introduces the company to partners, candidates or prospects and ends in a working relationship.

Should a company overview include pricing?

Usually not, because it dates fast and varies by segment. Link to a pricing page instead, so the deck stays accurate as prices change.

Can I build a company overview deck for free?

Yes. Building manually from a blank deck in Gixo Lumen is free and unlimited on every plan, with no export paywall.
