Section Divider Slide
A section divider marks the boundary between parts of a deck. In a long presentation it gives the audience a place to re-orient; in a short one it is a slide that says nothing. The rough threshold is around twenty slides or three distinct sections.

What belongs on it
- The section name. Matching what the agenda called it, or people lose the thread.
- Where you are. 'Two of four' costs nothing and orients everyone instantly.
- Optionally, the section's question. A divider that states what this part answers earns its place.
- Visual contrast. A different background or inverted colours signals a break without needing to be read.
- Nothing else. A divider carrying content is not a divider.

Common mistakes
- Using them in a ten-slide deck. They cost attention and give nothing back at that length.
- Renaming sections between agenda and divider. The audience cannot tell whether they missed something.
- No visual contrast. If it looks like a content slide, it does not register as a break.
- Putting content on them. Anything worth reading belongs on a real slide.
- Forgetting the appendix divider. The one divider almost every deck genuinely needs.
