How to Create a Business Brief with Gixo

A step-by-step tutorial: upload source documents, select a recipe, review the verified output, edit with semantic blocks and inline AI, and export a polished brief ready for stakeholders.

From Raw Sources to a Polished Brief in Six Steps

Each step maps directly to the Gixo Briefs workspace. Follow this sequence for your first brief.

1
Upload source documents to a workspace

Create a new workspace or select a saved one. Upload PDFs, DOCX files, spreadsheets, or other research materials. These are the source documents the AI will draw from during generation — every number and claim in the final brief will be verified against what you upload here.

2
Select a recipe and configure settings

Choose from 54 curated recipes across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Executive domains. Each recipe defines section structure, word ranges, and evidence policies. Add a topic prompt describing what the brief should cover. Set word count targets and any specific instructions.

Pro Tip
If none of the 54 recipes match your exact need, use a general recipe and describe your desired structure in the topic prompt. The AI adapts the output to your description while still running the full verification pipeline.
3
Review the verified output

The 8-stage pipeline generates the brief, enforces word counts, checks brand compliance, verifies every number against your sources, optimizes content, injects inline citations, adds normative references, and validates structure. Review the output — numbers are flagged and repaired, citations are inline, and the executive summary is auto-generated.

4
Edit with semantic blocks and inline AI

Open the brief in the block-based editor. Insert KPIs, checklists, comparison tables, pros/cons lists, and more via slash commands. Use Quick AI for instant rewrites (Rewrite, Simplify, Expand, Fix Grammar, Professional Tone, Casual Tone) or Power Edit for deep AI-assisted refinement with your document as context.

5
Collaborate and collect feedback

Invite team members for real-time co-editing with remote cursors. Add inline comments on any block for review workflows. Iterate on the brief with your team until every section meets your standards for accuracy and clarity.

6
Export and share

Export to PDF or DOCX for email distribution to executives and board members, or HTML for internal web sharing. All formatting, citations, semantic blocks, and structure are preserved. The exported brief is ready for presentation without additional formatting work.

Tutorial FAQ

How long does it take to generate a business brief?
Uploading sources takes 1-2 minutes. The 8-stage pipeline runs in under 2 minutes for most briefs. Editing and review time depends on your thoroughness — a quick review takes 5-10 minutes, a detailed revision may take longer. Total time from sources to export is typically under 15 minutes.
What happens if a number in the brief cannot be verified?
The number verification stage compares every statistic against your uploaded sources. If a number cannot be verified, it is either repaired using the correct value from your sources or removed entirely. The pipeline does not pass through unverified figures.
Can I reuse source documents across multiple briefs?
Yes. Saved workspaces persist your uploaded documents. When you generate a new brief, select an existing workspace and those sources are available immediately without re-uploading. This is useful for teams that produce recurring briefs from the same research base.
What are semantic blocks?
Semantic blocks are structured content components: KPIs, checklists, steps, pros/cons lists, comparison tables, CTAs, definitions, and more. Type a slash command to insert one, then fill in the fields. Blocks maintain structure across export formats so your brief looks polished in PDF and HTML.
Can I edit a brief after exporting?
Yes. Your briefs are saved in the workspace. You can return to any brief, make edits, and re-export at any time. Export does not lock or archive the document.
