Contact Slide

A contact slide gives the audience a way to reach you after the talk. In most decks it should be merged into the closing slide rather than standing alone — three separate closing slides drain the ending, and the contact details are what people photograph anyway.

What belongs on it

  • Name and role. By minute forty the audience has often forgotten who presented.
  • Email, at a readable size. 18pt or larger for in-room presentations.
  • One further channel at most. Phone for sales, a profile link for networking. Not five icons.
  • A QR code or short link. For the deck, a booking page, or the data room.
  • The next step. Contact details without a reason to use them get used less.

Contact details aloneDetails plus the specific next step
A third closing slideMerged into the thank-you slide

Common mistakes

  • Making it a separate slide unnecessarily. Merge it with the close unless the deck is a leave-behind.
  • Details too small to read or photograph. People capture this slide; make it capturable.
  • Every channel you own. Choice reduces action; pick the one you actually monitor.
  • No reason to make contact. Pair the details with the next step.
  • Untested QR codes. Scan it yourself, from a screen, before you present.
Every slide guide here names the Lumen layout that produces it, so you can build the slide directly in a blank deck. Manual building is free and unlimited, and PPTX export carries no paywall on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

What should be on a contact slide?

Your name and role, an email at readable size, at most one further channel, a short link or QR code, and the specific next step you want.

Should the contact slide be separate from the thank-you slide?

Usually not. Merging them is stronger, because a run of three closing slides drains the ending. Keep it separate only for leave-behind decks.

How big should contact details be?

18pt or larger for in-room presentations. This is the slide people photograph, so it needs to survive a phone camera from the back row.

Should I include social media links?

One at most, and only the channel you actually monitor. A row of icons spreads attention and none of them get used.

What Lumen layout do I use?

The ThankYou layout, which is designed to carry the close and the contact details together.
