Ghost Publishing Guide

Connect Gixo to your Ghost CMS and publish AI-generated content with full HTML preservation. Create a custom integration, configure your Admin API key, and start publishing.

How to Connect and Publish

Six steps from creating a custom integration in Ghost to publishing and scheduling content.

1
Create a Custom Integration in Ghost

In your Ghost admin panel, go to Settings, then Integrations, and click Add Custom Integration. Give it a name like "Gixo" — Ghost generates an Admin API key and a Content API key for this integration.

2
Copy the Admin API Key

From the custom integration page, copy the Admin API key. This key grants write access to create, update, and publish posts through the Ghost Admin API. Store it securely.

3
Connect in Gixo Settings

Open Gixo Settings, go to Integrations, and select Ghost. Enter your Ghost site URL and the Admin API key. Click Connect to authenticate. Gixo verifies the connection and confirms your Ghost site is linked.

4
Test with a Draft Post

Send a test post as a draft to verify the connection works. Check your Ghost admin to confirm the draft appears with correct formatting, headers, and content structure before publishing anything live.

5
Configure Tags and Authors

Map your content to Ghost tags for automatic categorization. Set the default author for published posts. These settings ensure posts are organized and attributed correctly in your Ghost site.

6
Publish or Schedule

Generate content in Gixo and publish to Ghost as a draft, publish immediately, or schedule for a future date and time. All HTML formatting, images, and structure are preserved through the Admin API.

Security Tip
Store your Admin API key securely — it has full write access to your Ghost site. Do not share it publicly or commit it to version control. You can regenerate the key from the custom integration page if it is ever compromised.
Pro Tip
Ghost Pro and self-hosted Ghost both work the same way. The Admin API and custom integrations are available on all Ghost installations regardless of hosting. The setup process is identical.
Workflow Tip
Use scheduled publishing for content calendars. Generate a batch of articles in Gixo, then schedule each one for a specific date and time. Ghost handles the publishing automatically at the scheduled moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a custom integration in Ghost?
In your Ghost admin panel, go to Settings, then Integrations, and click Add Custom Integration. Name it something descriptive like "Gixo." Ghost automatically generates an Admin API key and a Content API key for the integration. Copy the Admin API key for use in Gixo.
Does this work with Ghost Pro?
Yes. Ghost Pro, self-hosted Ghost, and any Ghost installation support custom integrations and the Admin API. The setup process and functionality are identical across all Ghost hosting environments.
Is HTML preserved when publishing to Ghost?
Yes. Gixo publishes content through the Ghost Admin API using Mobiledoc format, which fully preserves HTML structure. Headers, images, bold text, lists, blockquotes, code blocks, and embedded content all render correctly in your Ghost theme.
Can I send posts to Ghost newsletters?
Yes. Ghost's newsletter feature is tied to post publishing. When you publish a post in Ghost, you can configure it to be sent as a newsletter to your subscribers. Posts published via the API can be included in newsletter distribution through Ghost's settings.
Can I schedule posts for future publication?
Yes. When publishing from Gixo to Ghost, you can set a scheduled publish date and time. Ghost queues the post and publishes it automatically at the specified time. This is useful for maintaining a consistent publishing cadence.
